PHILOSOPHYAbout Our Early Education Program
At Jacaranda Early Education in Biggera Waters on the Gold Coast, we are committed to fostering an inclusive education program that is accessible to all children. We have a nursery that caters to children aged between 0 and 1, and we also accommodate toddlers. Our Kindergarten Approved Program also means we’re more than qualified to foster learning in children between the ages of 5 and 6.
Our childcare program is specifically designed to foster strong bonds between children and educators at a pre-school level. We achieve this by embracing a child’s cultural identity and exploring their heritage. This allows children to have a better understanding of themselves, which can then lead them to develop interpersonal bonds in a community context. The Early Years Learning Framework
The Early Years Learning Framework is an important resource for educators and children, respectively, in that it embraces a vision for a new Australia. The framework is founded upon the principle of inclusivity – in which all Australians are accepted, irrespective of their origins, and have mutual respect.
With this in mind, Jacaranda Early Education has created a diverse educational program that gives every child the equal opportunity to thrive and shape their own destinies. We teach the importance of aboriginal culture, given Australia’s own ancestral relatedness to indigenous peoples. Some of our other activities include yoga, hey dee ho, and inter-generational programming. We believe these activities give children the chance to grow independently whilst fostering communal ties. To further achieve desired outcomes for children, our program is designed to: o Have a clear understanding of children’s well-being and educational needs o Plan, promote and assess our current learning standards o Improve the quality of childhood through interactional play and learning o Promote a shared language for the curriculum so that children understand o Foster cultural security for Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families Contact our Biggera Waters team to find out more about how we incorporate the EYLF into our programs. Our Biggera Waters Location
Our Gold Coast Childcare Centre is based in Biggera Waters, fully equipped with several resources and features that allow children to grow through tailored learning and exploration. Some features include dynamic play areas and educational stimuli.
Our Gold Coast facilities are divided according to age groups so that children receive appropriate stimuli appropriate for their current development stage. For instance, our orchids room is specifically designed for babies between the ages of 0-18 months. We also have the Billy Button room and Banksia room for ages 1-2 and 2-3, respectively. All these rooms are tailored to target milestones associated with each age group, which, for babies, is the process of learning through surroundings. We have experienced staff on hand to make use of these state-of-the-art facilities and incorporate them into our holistic curriculum. For Jacaranda Early Education, it’s about aligning academic aims with a child’s developmental needs so that they form healthy habits and necessary skills that they can take with them on their journey. To ensure that your children receive appropriate learning, Jacaranda Early Education hires individuals who are fully qualified and have ample experience. For us, this includes the following qualifications and attributes:
o Knowledge and experience in documenting children’s learning o Ability to put the needs of children first o EYLF and NQS skills o Children’s development knowledge o Experience in curriculum development Our educators are dedicated to fostering interpersonal bonds throughout a child’s formative years and ensuring that curriculums take into account the various cultural identities of Australia’s future generations. They have an affinity for both indoor and outdoor learning and utilise their skills to foster creativity, fundamental skills, and learning.Story Park
Story Park is a secure online community for our educators to communicate with parents about their children.
Educators can engage with parents and families by sharing real-time updates on their child’s learning. Families can then provide insights and feedback to extend the child’s learning. Over time, this deepens relationships between the learning service and family, personalises the learning journey for the child, and improves outcomes for the child, parents, and educators.
Kindergarten Approved Program
Our childcare centre is designed to meet government guidelines to support children’s participation in quality early childhood education.
An approved kindergarten program is provided for children in the year before Prep, play-based and delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher.
The play-based learning of an approved kindergarten program helps children prepare for school, develop a love of learning, make friends, and develop skills useful for life.
By engaging in various hands-on activities, children learn through exploration and discovery, which promotes cognitive development and problem-solving abilities. This approach makes learning enjoyable and encourages children to think independently and creatively.
Moreover, the social aspect of play-based learning helps children build essential interpersonal skills. Through group activities and collaborative play, children learn to communicate effectively, share and work as part of a team. At Jacaranda Early Education, we are committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports every child’s development and love for learning. What is the difference between an early learning centre and a kindy?
They are both similar in that they provide care for children aged 0-5 years old, but there are some key differences between the two. Early learning childcare centres on the Gold Coast tend to be larger and have more staff, which allows them to offer a wider range of services such as childcare, early education, and after-school care. Early learning centres are usually smaller and more intimate, with a focus on providing childcare and early education.
Why is early learning important?
As any parent knows, early childhood is an important time for learning and development. Early learning childcare centres on the Gold Coast provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore, play and learn. Early learning helps children develop important social, emotional, and cognitive skills. It also helps them to build self-confidence and a positive outlook on life. We offer a wide range of activities and programs that cater to the individual needs of each child. This allows children to learn at their own pace and in their own way.
What is play-based learning?
Through play, children can explore their interests, try out new ideas, and develop important social and emotional skills. These programs often include a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, as well as opportunities for child-led and adult-led play. Play-based learning has been shown to be an effective way to promote child development. It provides children with the opportunity to practice important skills such as problem-solving and creative thinking. In addition, play can help children develop a positive sense of self-esteem and a sense of belonging.
What government rebates and benefits are available to families?
Families can receive the childcare subsidy, which is income-tested and covers up to 85 percent of childcare fees. In addition, there are a number of tax benefits and concessions available to families who use childcare. So when searching for an “early learning centre near me,” you can rest assured that support is available if needed. We’ll be happy to provide further advice if you want it to.
What should I pack for my child?
When sending your child off to an early learning centre, you want to make sure they have everything they need to feel comfortable and confident. Depending on the age of your child, you may need to pack a few items. For example, if your child is potty training, you will need to pack extra clothes and wipes. If your child has allergies, be sure to pack any necessary medication. A wide-brimmed hat and water bottle is essential.
What happens if my child is injured?
We foster an environment where children are as safe as possible, but accidents can happen. We will provide detailed incident report sheets and notify parents if there are any mishaps during the day. This is just one of the many reasons why we’re one of the leading childcare centres Gold Coast parents can trust.
What happens if I am delayed at pick-up time?
We understand that things happen, and sometimes, you may be delayed in pick-up time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, please call the centre, and we will let your child know that you are on your way. If you are more than 15 minutes late, our staff will start to look for an emergency contact for your child. If we can’t get in touch with an emergency contact, we will call the police. We do this to make sure that your child is safe and accounted for. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
